Widgets in Academica theme
-
I am using the Academica theme and have a question about widgets. I have used an image on the Sidebar Homepage Middle and when I refresh my page I don’t see the image on the blog. Also, can you explain where all the widgets will appear for each widget on this theme?

Hi there!
I’m seeing an animated gif of a dog in your left sidebar now – is that the image you were referencing?
To see where the different widget areas display, go to this page and scroll down to “Academica Widget Areas” section:

Hi,
Thanks for the help. The link you provided is very helpful. The only question I still have is related to the widget in the Sidebar: Homepage (Middle). I have placed an image there and then can’t find it on the blog.

You placed a link to an HTML page, not the URL of the image itself.
Typically you can get the URL of the blog image by right clicking the image and choosing “open image in new window”, but this image is using a pop up that explains the image is copyrighted:

Here’s more information about using the image widget:

Once again thanks for your help. I am still having trouble though. I thought I might be doing thing wrong so I tried using text in the same place. It still doesn’t show up.

To be able to use the “Sidebar Homepage – Middle” you would need to set a static front page as your homepage. Here’s a reference on how to set that up:
