Widgets in bottom of homepage sidebar in 2010 theme lately on WordPress hosted d
-
I’ve been noticing sidebar/widget issues with my website/domain, which is hosted by WordPress. I use the 2010 theme and have a sidebar filled with widgets. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that the home page was blank where the sidebar should have been.

But during most of this time, the sidebar would have been visible, but only visible when flush with the bottom of the homepage scroll. I don’t have infinite scroll. I limit it to the last 7 posts, and the widget stack in the sidebar would typically be at the bottom of the 7th post.
Until today.
As I review the status today, I see a different anomaly has manifested. Note the sidebar area is blank for the last 5 posts, but at the transition point for the last two posts of the 7, the [blank] sidebar area itself is gone, and the post area has been scaled to fill the entirety of the page.

I should hasten to add that when any individual post is clicked from the home page scroll, in full post view, the sidebar is completely normal only in that view.

Including the pages that were scaled up with no sidebar [blank] space in the home page scrollview.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Hey there, it looks like the sidebar is still there, but it’s fallen to the bottom of the page. That usually means there’s some malformed HTML in one of the posts, likely a div that closes too early or isn’t closed properly.
I noticed this post was affected even on the single post screen, and sure enough it had an HTML block with the following:<div><a href="https://www.setlist.fm/edit?setlist=73539e09&step=song">Edit this setlist</a> | <a href="https://www.setlist.fm/setlists/rosegarden-funeral-party-4bc9ab1e.html">More Rosegarden Funeral Party setlists</a></div></div>So that’s one div opening and two closing. I removed one of the extra closing divs and that seems to have patched things up. Want to take a look?

Thanks. That did it! It’s what I get for grabbing embeds off of a third party site like setlist.fm rather than taking the time to format my own set lists on the page like I did for the first 14 years and 11 months of having this blog!
