Widgets not appearing properly

  Hi, here’s the situation I’m in:

  Just changed theme from ‘tarski’ to Journalist. Dashboard reads “12 widgets”, but they do not show up on the Widgets page, or on my blog. I added in 4 text widgets, but when I tried to add in generic widgets such as ‘Archives’ or ‘Blogroll’ they showed up in ‘Show Used Widgets’. So basically what’s happening is that I can’t access the widgets I had before, but I can’t really put in new ones either. If that makes sense at all…

  Any help/info would be much appreciated. I combed through past forum posts, but no other problem seemed to be exactly the same as mine..so yes. Thank you :)
