Widgets not displaying

I’m trying to display my widgets (search/recent posts/facebook box etc) however when I go to manage live preview and save and publish the widgets they are not appearing on my website. I’ve installed the display widgets plugin and I’ve followed the tutorials on how to display widgets. I don’t know why they are not displaying on my website or in the manage live preview. Do I need to install an extra plugin or change something in my settings for the widget to appear? Please help.

Since we cannot install additional plugins here on WordPressdotcom, it sounds like you are referring to a site using the standalone WP software.
