widgets not displaying on home page

  I have added some simple widgets but they only show on the ‘About’ page. Why aren’t my widgets displaying on home page? When I open the widget settings there is an option at bottom beside the ‘Save’ button but there is no tutorial on what this means or how to configure it. Please help me.

  Please read your theme description found here and note the theme is no designed to display widgets on the front page. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/visual/

  Widgets
  You can configure a sidebar on single posts and pages by going to Appearance → Widgets.
