Widgets not responding, behaving all-funny

Under the widgets tab on my dashboard, in the left column [Available Widgets], the widgets i’d originally used, appear used, and i can’t add (or remove or anything) them anymore – the ADD button doesn’t appear on them.
In the right column [Current Widgets], however, there is NOTHING –
>>>You are using 0 widgets in the sidebar.
>>>Add more from the Available Widgets section.
This is what wordpress tells me. Yet, they show up in the Sidebar on the blog, all fuzzed up, and most are Missing.For example, the tag-cloud, category-cloud, among others, have vanished. My links categories have malfuntioned, and all links show clumped-up under the ‘blogroll’ tab. Even then, some links just don’t show. There are more such irksome things!
Ps. Changing the theme didn’t help.
It’s no fun this way. Do help me out, someone.

Looks like you’re talking about a private blog. I can only suggest that maybe you’ve got an unclosed tag somewhere? Try hitting “Close Tags” on the HTML editor for your last few posts.
Also, what browser and version are you using? Have you tried the cookie dance? Log out, clear cache and cookies, restart.

no, not a private blog..and yes, i’ve done the ‘clear cache’, et al. procedure…i’m also using firefox – the problem persists in both versions of the browser (2&3)…
i didn’t understand the ‘close tags’ bit – can someone explain that bit please…

followed the ‘close tabs on recent poss in HTML editor’ instructions – didn’t work either. everytime i clicked on the ‘close tags’ button, it didn’t seem to do anything. dunno if the button was supposed to change to ‘open tags’ or something like that, and even if it was supposed to, it didn’t happen that way..
still, help wanted… :(

i dunno what it was that i did that resolved it…i changed themes, activated all the widgets that hadnt been done so, and uninstalled and reinstalled firefox…something mustav clicked…all i know is, my widgets reappeared, unscathed. And all the widgets i’d activated in a frenzy, they didn’t show..so it’s all a happy ending.

I have the same problem:
I changed my blog’s theme. First I used “Chaotic Soul”, now I am using “Andreas09”. The problem is that, when I want to work with widgets, the following happens:
In the right side of the screen, under “Current Widgets”, it says that I am using no widgets (neither in the main sidebar, nor in the right sidebar).
But in the left side of the screen, under “Available Widgets”, it says that some widgets (like “comments”) are already used and I cannot use them anymore.
The problem with all this is that I cannot order the already used widgets according to my preferences.
The second problem is that, although the widgets “flickr” and “comments” are already used, they do not appear on my blog.
If I change themes, my previous widgets reappear, but I really like the current theme and don’t want to change it.
Could you help me, please?

It’s ok now. I just added a new, unused widget to the mainbar and suddenly all the others appeared. Strange, but now it’s ok. Thank you very much!

Clicking “Save Changes” should also work when you are unable to see your activated widgets under “Current Widgets.”

My widgets added something: %beg_of_title%%end_of_title% I cannot remove it or do anything with it.
