widgets once removed can't be replaced
-
I put some widgets onto my home page, and have then accidentally deleted some that I want to remain there, but I can’t get them back. I’ve gone through the process of adding them to the primary widget area, but they don’t appear on my page – please help!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi
As I can see, you have 3 different widgets on the sidebar:
* Recent Comments
* Categories
* Follow Blog via EmailIs there any other you would like to add?
In the widget configuration page, under Appearance on the wp-admin, you can find a section named Inactive Widgets. There you will find the widgets you’ve deleted and it kepts the previous configurations, so you don’t have to set up it all over again.
You can read more at https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#configuring-widgets

Hi
Thanks for your response, and I’ve tried to reinstate the following:
Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Archives, Categories, Follow and Meta in that order, and it hasn’t worked. Also the problem with Follow is that I can’t seem to bring back just the box that offers the non Word press reader the option to click to receive notice of new posts.
It’s driving me bananas!
thx -
Sorry, just ignore the last part of the problem – I had a look at the website and it does offer the opportunity to add an email address – it just doesn’t appear when I’m logged in. But the initial prob is still there – I can’t get Recent Posts etc onto the right hand side
thx

Hi Jenny
Sorry for my delayed response
I believe you don’t have any published posts, so “Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Archives and Categories” widgets will not show anything. Some of them need at least one published post to be displayed in the sidebars. It’s how they work.
For instance, I can see you have the Categories widgets right now being displayed at https://jbcamino.wordpress.com. You can see there’s no category to select. This happens even if you have created some Categories, because if you don’t have any posts categorized, there’s nothing to show.
It seems that you managed to add Recent Comments, Archives and Categories Widgets, so if you want to try and publish a post, you will see that the archives will now show the current month (Archives are organized by months).
Let me know if you managed to add a new post. I’ll be here to help if you need
If you can, also please post here a link to a screenshot. You can upload it in your media library, click on the new uploaded picture and paste here the contents of the URL field.
Best

correction: You can post a screenshot from your widgets configuration page, so I can see which widgets are currently installed…

Blame my thick-headedness on having a lot of things on my mind before we depart for 7 weeks overseas!
over and out and thanks again .. -
