Widgets replaced with latest posts

  Help!!! What happened to my Home Page? The side column widgets are gone. They are replaced with four or five of my latest posts (titles, pictures, text). As I scroll down, the widgets flash shortly on the opposite side and disappear. The problem dwells only in the Home Page. The other pages look fine. The dashboard displays the widgets correctly.   A classic HTML error, usually caused by cutting and pasting stuff in from either elsewhere on the web or from MSWord. To fix, follow these steps:

  1) go to Settings->Writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and save.

  2) go to your Posts page on the dashboard and use the bulk editor to set your latest 20 posts to Draft and then back to Public. That should fix it. If not, then do the same for the previous 20. This forces the change in 1) to take effect.

  You don’t need to change 20 posts – you can easily find which post has the error. See here for more:
