Widgets showing on bottom of page, not on sidebar
-
Hiya,
I was updating my widgets and now 1/2 of them show in the bottom of the page and not on the side bar. I am sorry if someone has asked that before, I’ve looked for an answer before I posted this question, but can’t find any. My blog address is flavholman.wordpress.com. The theme is bold life.
Thanks for your help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”
Next to turn all your recent posts to drafts, you go to Posts > All Posts, tick the little square to the left of “Title” to select all the posts on the screen, select Edit from the Bulk Actions pulldown, click Apply, select Draft from the Status pulldown, click Update; then select Published and click Update again.

Hi, thanks for replying so fast. First of all, I have no clue what you mean by “…without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor…” Sorry, I’m a bit ignorant on that.
I also don’t underestand why I have to turn all my posts to draft? I’m not having a problem with the posts, only with the sidebar.
Thanks for your help!

The falling sidebar issue is a well known one. It’s caused by the blogger (1) importing posts with invalid HTML in them (2) copying and pasting into posts or pages without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor. To undetsatnd what that means read this > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
The solution is to do what I stated above.

If you still have trouble after following the instrcutions I provided, then we need an active link starting with http:// to the exact blog you are having this issue on.

Once you enable the setting > Settings > Writing you have to do as I said above in order for the WordPress.com software to correct the messed up HTML. Leave that settingt enabled at all times.

Hiya, thanks for that. I have followed your instructions and it seems like it still looks the same. The blog is https://flavholman.wordpress.com/
Thank you so much for all your help!

Looks fine to me. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies and doing a restart; you might be looking at a cached version.

Hi again, sorry to be a pain, but it didn’t work. I cleared the browser cache and cookies, restarted the computer and it is still the same. You see, there are some items on the sidebar, but some of them moved down, like the pinterest logo, the categories and tags.
Not sure what I’ve done because one minute it was fine, then it wasn’t anymore.

AH! Looks to me like you have an HTML error in your Blogger Map widget. Check out the code and make sure for every opening tag, there’s a closing one. I bet that’s the issue.
-
Thanks for your reply. Ok, I looked at it, but I am really horrible at html. Isn’t tag this symbol? < >? It looks like there is always an opening and a closing one. What I did, is re arrange my widgets and none of them is below the blogger map widget. I have also copied it again from the original blog, to make sure I had the right thing and it’s still teh same.
Once again, thank you so much for your help! Flav

Raincoaster is right: you have a stray closing tag in that widget. This is what you need to remove:

I got it!! Thank you ever so much Raincoaster for your patience and thank you justpi for the html tips and telling me exactly what had to be removed!! I would have spent my whole life and not find it out.
