widgets showing on my blog that do not show as active on my dashboard
-
There are widgets now showing in the bottom sidebar of my blog, however when I go into edit the widgets on my dashboard the bottom sidebar shows there are “0” active widgets in that location? Please help —

As a new WordPress user, I’m still working this out myself, but I think that if you’ve chosen a theme with certain widgets pre-allocated you can’t move or remove them.
Hopefully someone will come along and correct me…

Unsleepable has a sidebar and a bottom bar. The 3 items you see at the bottom are the default ones (I just activated this theme on my test blog). If you want something different, go to design>widgets and select bottom bar. As soon as you add a widget to the bottom bar, those will disappear.

Can I ask another question to do with widgets and design? The design tab on my dashboard appears to have disappeared, I have tried to force a refresh and it hasn’t come back. I want to add more widgets to my blog but can’t get to them…http://voicesofpostwarengland.com
Any suggestions about how to solve this would be great… thanks -
thanks vivianpaige. this threw me because i’ve been using this theme for some time before this showed up. i just added a blank text widget and the defaults are gone.
