Widgets still showing up in Sidebar after deleting them

On my showcase sidebar, I only have one widget listed which is a text widget. However, on every page, the “Recent Post” widget shows up and I cannot figure out how to remove that widget. How can I delete this widget? We are using our wordpress blog as a website and don’t post anything.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The Recent Posts heading isn’t actually a widget area. It’s an area that is automatically added to Showcase pages as shown in the theme demo here:

    http://twentyelevendemo.wordpress.com/showcase/

Normally, the Showcase page is meant to display your latest blog posts so it has the Recent Posts “widget” built in. There are two ways to remove this:

    1. You could elect to not use the Showcase template on any of your pages
    2. You could hide this with CSS. However, in order to do that, you would need to purchase the Custom Design upgrade shown here:

      http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Let me know how you would like to proceed, and I’ll provide further instruction!
