Widgets that appear after deleting
-
I’ve delete the Archive and Search widgets from my blog, however they are still appearing on two of the pages (contact and Free patterns).
When I look at my widget lists in both the WP Amin area and the Customiser they are NOT on the list. Also clicking on the appropriate edit icon on the appropriate page in customiser does nothing. I’ve also tried adding again and deleting, but this does not work. I’ve looked at my site from my ipad as well as my laptop and they are appearing, so it’s not an issue with my browser.
My theme is Twenty Ten.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

These three widgets (Search, Archives and Meta), appear by default. You have to drag other to make them disappear.
See the demo of your theme:

and three pages in the demo:

Hi galois,
Thank you for explaining that. Could you tell me what you mean by ‘drag other’ to make them disappear. Sorry if I’m being slow here, but one of the demo pages is centred and free of the widgets, so clearly you don’t mean I need to replace them with another widget. -

I mean you need to replace them with another widget.
Try it.Or see & try this:
Page Templates
By default, Twenty Ten uses a two-column layout with lots of room for widgets. If you’d like to hide the widgets and focus on the writing for a particular page, just choose the “One column, no sidebar” Page Template.Quoted from

Thank you. Yes, I did replace with blank text before, but wanted a centre one column page. Thanks for directing me to how to do that.
Much appreciated. -
