widgets to display blog content on external sites

I want to display the latest post, posts or part of a post in a widget to sit on my company website homepage. I’ve searched through dashboard>appearance>widgets; they only relate to widgets for use within my blog. I’m sure this must be possible I just don’t know where to look. I’ve tried to search through the FAQs with no joy

    Can you help?

You can display another site’s content on your sidebar, if that site provides an RSS feed, with the RSS Widget.

Displaying content from your WordPress.com blog on an external site will depend on the platform that site is using, and on which tools it has available to do that.

Thanks for getting back to me. My web provider informed me that wordpress would have a widget so I’m a bit lost here!

How can I explain better what I’m after?…

Twitter provides a widget “resource” enabling you to design a widget that goes onto your website displaying the last 1-5 tweets that account makes. you specify the parameters, Twitter provides you with html code… copy and paste and there it is. I assumed wordpress would have something similar?

I’m afraid there is no such feature, i.e. to display WordPress.com content, as a widget, on other sites.

That said, we’ve registered your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future features and updates.

Also, don’t forget the ideas forum, where you can discuss your suggestion with the WordPress.com community: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas
