Widgets when previewing themes

  When I preview a theme, not all the widgets on my page are visible. Is that because the theme doesn’t support that widget? I’d like to change themes, but I don’t want to lose my widgets.

  We need that to answer technical questions here in the help forums!
  It would also be helpful to know which specific widgets are not visible.

  Usually, when you change themes, you do not lose info on the widgets you currently have. When I first came here (2years?) it was advisable to save text widget code elsewhere, but lately that is not a problem

  Oh, wait a sec, you asked about previewing themes!
  The wp.com themes usually come with a standard set of widgets to give you an idea of how the theme will look. If you activate the theme, then you can add which ever widgets you want.
