Widgets wont work!!!

I go to the widgets page and drag the ones i want to the sidebar but nothing happens. it isnt doing anything and when i go to my front page the widgets dont apear! Is there something i need to do to activate them?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you drag the widget over to the sidebar area, move it around until a grey dotted outlined box appears and only then can you release your mouse button. The widget will then open and if you want to make any changes to the widget settings, do so and then click the “save” button and wait for the little spinning donut to finish indicating the change has been saved, and then click the “close” link.

I have been releasing the widget correctly and all but it seems like it is not opening. Where is the “save” button? and what “close” link?

When you insert the widget into the sidebar, it should open automatically once you release the mouse button. If it does not, click on the right end of the blue title bar for the widget in the sidebar (appearance > widgets) and it should open.
