Width of the content on a webpage

    I am using one the free theme. I copy and paste content from my word document into the visual mode and noticed that the width of the content showed on the web page is the same as what I copied and paste. So I changed the width of my content (landscape mode) and recopied and pasted. The width of the content on the web page remains the same. How do I broaden the content width of the page? Thx!
