    I’m writing out lore and worldbuilding related information for table-top games and video games, and I want to organize the content with a method better than individual documents (they can be hard to keep track of and lengthy to read). I have a patreon that I use as a blog for now but I don’t have a following yet. I like what I have so far for a wiki-like organization but I’m curious to know if wordpress’s blog is more robust or has more web traffic than patreon. As my traffic grows, I’ll upgrade and add the Patreon widget but for now I’m operating on a free domain. Currently the Patreon functions as an option for fans who want to help me create on a more consistent basis, but first I need some fans!! Where can I find other worldbuilders and blogs about worldbuilding on WordPress? Is WordPress the right medium for what I have described?

    Hi there,

    You can definitely use the WordPress software to create a Wiki, though you’ll need to use a theme or plugin that adds that functionality to the core WordPress software. Using themes or plugins like that on WordPress.com requires that you upgrade to our Business Plan.

    WordPress.com will definitely be able to handle any traffic you get – we have sites on our servers that get over a million visits per day with no issues.

    Here I would suggest our search options in the Reader. You can use either the search bar at the top, which will return results relevant to any search terms you enter similar to a Google Search, but only for sites on WordPress.com or connected to us via Jetpack. Or you can click on Tags in the sidebar of the Reader and search for specific key words there – that will only return posts that were specifically tagged by their authors with that exact key word.
