Will a purchased domain name be blocked in China?

  I would like my wordpress blog (themindorchard.wordpress.com) to be accessible in China. That current domain name is blocked (like all wordpress sites) but I was wondering if I purchase the domain name ‘themindorchard.com’ (as has been offered to me on my dashboard for $18/year), whether it would then be accessible?

  If not, then do you have any other recommendations as to how I can map my current domain name (themindorchard.wordpress.com) so that it can be viewed in china?

  I understand that a vpn will will get around the problem but I was hoping there might be another solution…

  Im still not sure if that means my new purchased domain name (themindorchard.com) will be blocked in China as well? If the domain name does not contain ‘wordpress’ is that sufficient to bypass the government controls?

  There is not other solution and pruchasing a domain is not going to result in a miracle.
