Will Akismet recognise my self-hosted site as being active?

  Hello.

  I’m new both to blogging and to WordPress. Only after installing WordPress.org on my own server, did I also find out that WordPress.org is not the same thing as WordPress.com.

  I have a blog started using WordPress.org, for which I also paid for and obtained a subscription to Akismet, with an activation key that works. Akismet has already started filtering out spams.
  But the Akismet page displays a warning, stating that Inactive Accounts will be terminated Within 14 Days.

  What I don’t know is whether there is anything specific I can and should do, to make Akismet aware of my self-hosted WordPress.org Blog. I already did give the Akismet site, the URL to my Blog.

  The “Inactive sites are automatically removed after 14 days” warning just means that if you stop using your API key on a site, that site won’t be listed on your dashboard after two weeks.

  If your site isn’t showing up in the list on your dashboard, contact us at support@akismet.com with your API key and site URL and we’ll figure it out.
