Will all content and settings remain when blog address is changed?

    Hi there!

    Understand that we can change the blog address from “www.XYZ.wordpress.com” to “www.ABC.wordpress.com” for free.
    Would like to find out if this would mean that all contents and settings at XYZ will remain as they are after the renaming?
    Also, should people key in “www.XYZ.wordpress.com”, will they be directed to “www.abc.wordpress.com” automatically after the change?

    Yes, everything will remain the same, only the URL will change.

    There is no automatic redirect. You have two options on that.

    During the renaming, you are given the chance to either delete the old site, or keep it (see #6 here). If you keep it, you can set all the posts to draft or private on the old site and then put up one last post directing people to the new address.

    The second way is to buy the site redirect upgrade which will seamlessly redirect all traffic to any post or page to the same post or page on your new site.
