Will all of the content in my website be removed if I canceled the plan?
-
Hi all,
I’m currently using a WordPress.com Premium plan (with domain registration included). I’ve uploaded videos to the Media Library under the Premium plan — and now I’m considering canceling the plan. I understand the Free plan likely won’t allow new video uploads, so I just want to secure the existing content. I want to confirm whether the videos I already uploaded will remain playable on my site after the downgrade.
- The refund page told me that if I cancel the plan, I won’t be able to retain my custom domain and will go back to the free domain, despite having paid for registration (the fee is deducted from the refund).
- If I lose the domain with the downgrade, what are the steps to migrate or keep the domain separately?
- Are there any hidden consequences I should watch out for (themes, custom CSS, storage overages) after switching from Premium to Free?
Thanks a lot for any help — I want to make the change safely and without losing existing content or domain ownership.
