Will change of web address lead to a forced site banner?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello I noticed that recently I updated an old registered web and it led to a forced black banner on top of the web – that time, I did 2 things, a. change of web address b. publish the web from private web.

Now I want to update another old registered published web. I want to know if a change of web address will lead to a forced black site banner on top? This will be my consideration to use the web or not, or I will tolerate with the current web address.

It would be great if we know it so that we take it into consideration. Thank you very much.

  • Hey there,

Many thanks for reaching out and happy to help with this, to help with a resolve, I have just a few questions.

Hello I noticed that recently I updated an old registered web and it led to a forced black banner on top of the web – that time, I did 2 things, a. change of web address b. publish the web from private web.

Can you tell me the URL of the old web address and the URL of the intended address please?

This will help to retrace some steps.

. I want to know if a change of web address will lead to a forced black site banner on top?

Which web address are you looking to change?

Generally speaking, a change of address wouldn’t affect whether there’s a banner, instead whether the site is on a paid plan or not could affect this. Sites that are on the free plan will show a promotional tab at the top of the site.

I hope this helps so far.
