Will Closing a ‘Free’ Account Have Any Effect on a Domain WP Site Hosted w/ Hostmonster?

  I am planning on closing a ‘free’ WP account. Before I do, I want to make sure that doing so won’t screw up a WP site on a domain hosted by Hostmonster. The login webpages are different; the user names are different so I’m guessing there’s no issue. It’s just that the verbiage on the ‘Close Account’ window is a little scary. Looking for reassurance here. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  Closing this WordPress.com account cannot possibly have any effect on a site you host somewhere else, as there is no connection between our system and your hosting provider’s.

  I suspected this to be he case. Better to check and be sure. Now I can get rid of a little clutter on WordPress servers with confidence. Thank you very much for assistance! Charles
