Will closing my wordpress account delete my wordpress website I hosted on siteground.com?

  Hello WP-ler,

  I hosted my website prestopresto-feinkost.de on siteground.com. I use WordPress as CMS. Since I tried different payment gateways, I also installed Woocommerce payments. With the installation I had to create an account at WordPress.com. Now my site is connected to WordPress.com. Since Woocommerce-Payments is not in German, I uninstalled it again.

  My question is, why is my website now listed in a second dashboard at WordPress.com, independently of my sites backend? And why is it connected to jetpack on wordpress.com even though i don’t have jetpack installed on my website. Can I close my account on wordpress.com without deleting my WordPress site hosted on Siteground?

  Hi there,

  Your site is listed on WordPress.com because you connected it here using the Jetpack plugin. If you’ve since removed Jetpack, but you didn’t disconnect it first, the connection will still exist on our end. But the connection is currently broken.

  If you’re sure you no longer want this WordPress.com account, you can close it without it affecting your Siteground site in any way.

  However, you will need a WordPress.com account if you want to log into WooCommerce.com at any point to buy any premium add-ons for the WooCommerce plugin, or if you ever decide in future that you want to start using Jetpack or the WooCommerce mobile app. But you can always register a new account at that point if you need to.
