will credit card statement contain name of website?
-
I am trying to decide whether to register my domain, but I need to know whether the website identity (name, URL, anything like that) will show up on my credit card statement, receipt, etc. I’m fine with purchasing the privacy feature but am not sure whether confidentiality of the kind I need is included or possible.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Correct me if I’m wrong – you’re actually looking for privacy related to your credit card statement, right ? To be honest, I’m not sure of this – maybe someone from WordPress can help you with an answer. However if this is what you’re looking for, I have an idea – try to pay with PayPal – basically just add funds from the credit card to the PayPal account and on the CC statement will appear only PayPal – after that with PayPal you will register the domain with WordPress.com.
Heh, if you want domain privacy as well, you can buy this from WordPress also – it costs $8 per year ( if I remember correctly ) and WordPress will show their partner’s contact information instead of your own. ( this when somebody will whois your domain name ).
Hope it helps :)

Hi there,
All payments to WordPress.com will show WPCHRG.COM as the reference on your statement. See:
The receipt we email you and which will appear in your billing history will contain your site name, and the upgrade you purchased, i.e. the domain, along with your personal details you provide when making a payment. Those details have to be provided on a receipt for it to be legal and valid.
Domain privacy is something completely different. When you register a domain you are required to provide valid contact details, which are added to a public database. Failing to provide the contact info, or providing fake info, will lead to your domain being suspended.
But if you purchase private registration for your domain (included if you register a domain as part of a plan), we hide those contact details so it’s not publicly accessible.
