Will Domain Mapping make my site just.com rather than wordpress.com??

  • Unknown's avatar

Will mapping my domain make it so that when someone goes to my site, it will be the actualy domain name, in my case http://www.peopleontinder.com rather than http://www.peopleontinder.wordpress.com?

Also, as my site is hosted on wordpress, can I use google adwords on my site, or is my only option your WordAds program?

I realize I’m not very knowledgable about blogs or websites, so if my questions don’t totally make sense, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Yes, that is correct, just make sure that you set the primary domain via Store -> Domains in your blog’s dashboard after mapping it.

Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:

    WordAds

If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
