Will followers receive notice of a new post if I choose the 'private' setting?

  If I choose to limit who can read a post by choosing the ‘private’ button, will a message be sent to people who follow my blog? I don’t want people coming to my blog only to find there’s nothing new.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes, you will need to invite other users as viewers in order for them to be able to see your site if you set it to private.

  Viewers to private blogs are not added as followers automatically, though, so they must click the “Follow” button for the site in order to start receiving updates of new blog posts.
