Will Google Analytics ever be available for the Free wordpress version?

I am on a couple sites that require Google Analytics, I was wondering if you would ever make it available for the Free version of WordPress or if I should just go ahead and switch blog platforms.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I asked this question on the original post announcing Google Analytics, and never got an answer. I’ll tag this for staff to follow up.

We don’t currently have any plans to offer Google Analytics as part of the free version of WordPress.com. We regularly adjust which features will be included in which plan, so it’s impossible to say if that will change in the future.

Keep in mind, that only applies to sites hosted on WordPress.com. You could use Google Analytics for no extra charge by setting up a WordPress install with another host. Here’s some info about the different ways to use WordPress that might be of use.
