    i want to monetize my site will i be able to do so if i buy a domain and is it necesarry to buy domain from wordpress cant i buy it from other sites like websitepalce, 1&1 etc.

    No. You have to move off of WordPress.com to a hosted WordPress.org site.

    It is pretty easy, but time consuming to migrate. Buy a domain, buy hosting. There is a usually a wizard that allows you to easily setup WordPress one the host. Migrating all your content is also doable from your new version of WordPress. You probably will have to choose a different theme, though, as some good themes including in WordPress.com are not in WordPress.org.
