Will installing wordpress.org before DNS propagation affect anything?

I switched from my wordpress.com to a self-hosted wordpress.org site earlier today with the same domain (wordpress-registered) name. I remapped the DNS, and one of the sites said it was done so I went ahead and installed wordpress.org on my host (and overrode the info in the current domain name).

However, when I try to log into wordpress.org, it redirects me to wordpress.com. And all of my blog is still on my blog, which makes me think that the DNS hasn’t fully propagated yet?

    (1) Will installing wordpress.org on my host, on the same domain name, before DNS propagation affect anything? Do I have to take any steps now to change things?

    (2) Could this be because of an incomplete DNS propagation, or a different problem?
