Will making front page static after five years cause content loss?
-
I have had my blog posts on my front page for five years. I’d like to now move that blog page to another page on my site and make my front page a static one (I know how to do this, that’s not my issue). My question: if I move the page over, will I lose all the content on it? Will it affect the links in Google search?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Making the front page a static page won’t affect any of your content — all of your blog posts will still be available at the same links, so someone who follows a link from Google to a specific post will still get there. The only difference is that when you visit the front page of your blog, it won’t show your recent blog posts there. When you set up the new blog page your recent posts will be listed there. (We have details about setting that up in our guide for changing your front page.)
Google will also catch up with that change, so if you set up a new blog page on the site it will find that new page and add it to its search results. Please let me know if you have any other questions about that!
