Will my blog be affected during the 2 weeks changeover from .com to .org

    Hi Guys

So wordpress.com is killing me….there are so many things I can’t do and I only just figured this out in recent months AFTER purchasing everything and having it all set up!!!

I want to make the move to wordpress.org (I wish i knew about wordpress.org before!!) but I dont want to do it myself, I have read other support blogs saying that I can have a wordpress person do this for me 0- that’s great, i’ll take that option.

But I have a huge campaign running on my blog for the next few months, it says it takes 2 weeks to happen – but in that 2 weeks – does that mean my blog will shut down??? PLEASE help :)

Changing your hosting is NEVER seamless, but it’s not that big a deal. It doesn’t take two weeks for the changeover; they just mean they’ve got a backlog of cases and it’ll be about two weeks before they can get around to moving you over.

I migrated from self hosted to WordPress.COM two years or so ago – not to bad – there was a period of time that I could not reach my site but others could – when the name servers are changed it can take some time for the changes to migrate across the internet and access can be erratic – but changes start after a few hours – having the staff here make the change for you is the easiest – they now have had a lot of practice moving blogs so they should be very good at it – the low cost tells me they have figured it out very well so they don’t spend a lot of time fixing stuff by hand and they get it right the first time
