Will My Domain Name Be Reinstated If I Upgrade My Plan?

    So it looks as though my plan has expired. My domain name before it expired was elitefitnessmakeover.com. Now it seems as though the domain is elitefitnessmakeover.wordpress.com. If I upgrade my plan will my domain name be reinstated to elitefitnessmakeover.com or will I have to propagate the domain name again?

    I do not see any upgrades under your @vipers2010 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

    Is it possible you made your purchase under a different login?
    I can confirm that elitefitnessmakeover.com is registered at WordPress.com but is under a different account and not your @vipers2010 login. If you do not recall how to log in to your other account you can fill out the form here to get assistance from our Account Recovery team: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

    On that form you will be asked to provide a transaction ID for your purchase, which you can typically find on your credit card statement. More info on how to find that here: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id

    Thank you for your response! Yes, the purchase was originally made by another user. Unfortunately, I do not have access to that user’s account as I took over managing this site only recently.

    I am not attempting to upgrade the plan from the vipers2010 account so that I can use Elementor and ideally restore the elitefitnessmakeover domain name. Is it possible for me to do that? And if I were to upgrade, would the domain name go back to elitefitnessmakeover.com?

    No, unless you also have access to that domain at GoDaddy. Since the domain had expired, it didn’t retain the WordPress.com nameservers. If you do have access to the domain, you can update the nameservers to: 

    ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com

    Since you’re an Administrator on that site, you should then be able to set that domain as primary once you get the plan and NS changes made. Note that NS changes can take up to a day to fully propagate, so you may not see that domain updating immediately.
