Will my widgets be affected if I change themes?
-
I am currently using the Twenty Ten theme but I want to change to the Pilcrow theme. Will the order of my widgets be affected if I change to the Pilcrow (or some other) theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It shouldn’t be, but it’s always wise to open up and copy the contents of all your text widgets and save them in a plain text file somewhere on your hard drive.
What might happen if the new sidebar is narrower is that some of the widgets might break out of the sidebar on one side.

As rain said, copy the contents of your text widgets for safe keeping before you switch themes.
What may also happen is that some of your widgets may be moved to the bottom “Inactive Widgets” section under Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets. If so, you can simply drag them back into the sidebar.
Thinking ahead, it may even be an idea to drag them into “Inactive Widgets” yourself before you switch themes. That section is supposed to keep the widgets’ settings. YMMV

OK, thanks for the replies. I’ve successfully changed my theme to Pilcrow.
When I was using the Twenty Ten team, it was possible to have a drop-down list for my pages. Is this drop-down page list available in the Pilcrow theme?
