will my wordpress.com site stay online after moving it to a localhost?

  Hello,
  I will change my site into a self hosted site with new domain name. Before that, I would like to have my site on my pc (localhost) and do some changes.

  In the meantime, will my wordpress.com site stay online? I would like to have that.

  maybe I should ask a different question:

  When going from a wordpress.com site to a wordpress.org site, will the wordpress.com site dissappear?
