will purchase code stay?

  I took over a website that uses WordPress and do not have the actual purchase codes for the premium theme (no documentation handed down to me). If I change the theme and then decide to go back to the premium one – does the purchase code stay filled in?

  Details: Theme is The7 but having difficulty getting it updated from 5.1 to a more current version which is why I was thinking of looking at other, newer themes.

  It sounds like you’re talking about a site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but is hosted elsewhere.

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
