Will redirect work if the names of the blogs are different?
-
I’m moving the content of my WP.com blog to a self-hosted (WP.org) blog. However, the names of the blogs are different and the structures of the permalinks are also different, i.e., the permalinks on the WP.com include dates but the ones on the self-hosted do not. Would a redirect still work in this situation?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

t works if redirection includes same fresh content and quality will make you more effective but it an also leads to see spam action if you dont follow webmaster guidelines….
Wish you a Happy Valentines Day Gud One you cn also check i am doing same on Valentine Images -
Thanks for your response. I think you were trying to tell me that you went thru the same experience of redirecting an old site to a new, with two different names? And it worked? Thanks for the reassurance. I’m still unsure, however, about the different structures of the permalinks, but thanks again for the response.

if you redirect 301 with wild card then permlink will work same as your previous are working for eg. if i want to redirect my domain Happy Valentines Day Images To
Happy Valentines Day
blog then i will do wild card 301 redirection and forward that domain to new one with content all the permalinks will work as per previous one (suggesting you to experiment it by yourself by taking more practicalin and one eg. wordpress.com domainyou will get your ans. be more practical)
