Will refund be paid on deleting site or canceling a domain?

  I have just paid the annual subscription through PayPal auto payment, I want to cancel the blog above and get a refund for the annual subscription.
  I am happy to cancel the domain or delete the site, will this result in a refund or do I need to do it through Paypal?

  Hey there Campbell,

  I can cancel your subscriptions and refund your purchases for you.
  So that we are on the same page, once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

  I may have just cancelled it as it may not have charged yet, using the “disable auto-renew option”, it may not have charged yet, I am not sure, but if you could please double check.

  Hey Campbell,

  I checked your account and your payment has been voided. Your domain related subscriptions will naturally expire on April 6, 2014, and all other upgrades will expire on January 26, 2014.

  Regarding your blog, campbellgentles.wordpress.com, it will still be operational. I would recommend setting your blog to private rather than deleting it altogether. Once you delete your site, you will never have access to the domain name again. You never know, you might get the itch to blog again!
