Will someone make sure my blogs only shared with Twitter please.

Twitter publicize mine to only please! Did I get out of Facebook yet? I don’t want my mom and dad to read it… they are gonna be shocked..

Are you for real? Anything that’s on the interent travels. You can’t control that. So don’t ever post anything you would not want your parents, grandparents or furture spouse and children to read. It’s that simple.

Also note that “private” blogs do not have sharing options. And, if just one person you allow into that blog posts a link to it on Twitter, or links back to any page in it from their own blog then your cover is potentially blown. Why because Tweets are indexed continuously by Google. .

You cannot prevent people from pointing at you on the internet, any more than you can prevent them from talking about you in real life.

Dashboard > Settings > Sharing
There you’ll find the Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Messenger sharing options. Under them should say either Connected or Disconnected. When everything is said and done, clear all your cookies, history, and cache. Then log back into your blog under Dashboard > Settings > Sharing to see if it still says Connected or Disconnected.

If you don’t want your poetry and adventures read out loud at some public event in front of your significant other and / or parents and friends then best not to post it online.

Thank you for all of the above suggestions, on this topic.. I have decided to ask that question because it was funny and kinda true..I figured it out, tho. And, I changed my settings as suggested…and also, I was able to blog honestly without infringing on the privacy of others.I blog because it is a public place, anyway. Sharing it is my whole purpose, really, If someone cares enough to read my stuff, tho….i wonder why, sometimes.

I have a quick question, this seemed a good place to ask it – is it possible to change the way my blog is shared on Twitter? At present when I update my blog it just tweets the new post’s title followed by a link, and I’d like it to show the name of the blog too. I’d also like to know if this can be done with Facebook too.

…I can’t think of anything else….. that would make any thing I was concerned about- any different (in a better way)…I guess so, then., yes, it is resolved Actually, .now I have new and different; temporaryl issues to deal with, though…I don’t feel like bringing up yet…I have to find out first how to fix em myself. ..

dshoesmith, what method are you using? I use the manual Share button and add some custom text after the link. You can add the blog name there, but it might be redundant. I have eight blogs, and don’t usually put the blog name in, since it’s MY twitter stream, so probably MY blog if it’s not a rt.

Under the ‘Sharing’ options I have connected my blog to both Twitter and Facebook – as I undertand it WordPress will automatically post on both feeds as soon as I post a new blog. I just need to know if I can change WHAT it posts. I also have more than one blog, so it’d be nice to differentiate between the two on Twitter and Facebook.
