Jessica – the correct url for your blog doesn’t contain any www. It’s http://jessicabrooke.com
The zebra background – first you have to upload the file. Once you have done that, put the url in the body element (where it now has background-image:url(images/bgstrip.gif)
And you might want to link your blog to your user name https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-make-your-name-link-to-your-blog?replies=54

ok. I linked my blog to me user name. and I know the url of the background I just dont know how to out it in the CSS form.. I think.

I dont want it to be like myspace, but I want all of my information, like blog roll, and recent posts, etc. in a box on the right side, and then my posts in seperate boxes on the left.

WordPress.com will not allow you to upload custom theme files such as those created with this “Theme Generator.”

I know, I am trying to figure out how to make my theme. I thought that using the Theme Generator would give me an idea. but im not sure how to go about making it wordpress usable.

Looks like you might want to read this WP.com FAQ page:

You said you read the tutorials. And I assume that you have the CSS upgrade. Without the paid upgrade, you can’t do anything.
I gave you the information that you need in order to change the background. Have you ever worked with CSS before? Do you know how to look at your current CSS?

I read the tutorials. I also have the CSS upgrade. I got the backround url and I got it on there. The problem was I couldnt make the ‘tables’ the way I want them. The way they are layed out now, I like them in that position but I dont want the flowers and such..

or even if I could just change the font and the font sizes, but I have a custom theme from wordpress so I dont know how to change it.
-
And no, I have never worked with CSS, I was really good at the htmls on myspace so i thought css would be basically the same, but so far i am just absolutely lost!

If I may pitch in…
Jessica, Why don’t you use Sandbox instead? For how you want to make your blog look like, it would be easier to use Sandbox because, in my opinion, you’d have less selectors to deal with. Modifying your current theme is possible, but you’d have to modify a lot of selectors which could be frustrating if you don’t have the experience.
Also, in CSS, you need to know what class/id/name selectors you need to modify. I saw you pasted a lot of CSS code which will do nothing if the selectors defined there don’t exist in the HTML. For instance, if you define:
#secondary {background; pink;}But in your HTML there’s no element with such id (i.e. <div id=”secondary”>) then you won’t see a column with a pink background.
I hope this helps.
