Will the Domain Mapped address be the same as my paid Domain

    Hello!
    Before I upgrade my account to a paid plan I wanted to confirm that if I use ‘Domain Mapping’ to direct users from my paid domain (GoDaddy) will the URL be the same or will they see a ‘mapped’ version of the site address?

    Also what is the benefit of using ‘Managed WordPress’ through my domain provider rather than using Domain Mapping directly from your site?

    Hi there Ashley!

    If you map a domain you already own to your WordPress.com site and set it as your primary one, everytime someone types in your domain name they will be redirected to your WordPress.com site. The URL in the address bar will stay the same.

    To correctly map a domain you’ll need to map it from My Site>Domains and, after that, change the nameservers on your current registrar’s site, as indicated here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    If you only change the DNS from your registrar’s end, the mapping will not work properly.
