Will the Guided Transfer maintain current users?

  My site has many users, and each one has their own specific posts they wrote. I wish to purchase the guided transfer, but I am very worried that after the transfer all the users have to create new accounts on WordPress.org! How is are the users transfered? Must they create new accounts? In case they do, how are their posts displayed?

  Basically, they’re account won’t be transfered, but we can create new accounts for them.

  But, in that case, what will happen to the posts they already wrote?
  What I am worried about is that “The Author” box at the end of the posts. Will all these boxes go blank for the previous posts as soon as the blog is at WordPress.org?

  They shouldn’t. The authors will need to be added as users first, then have their profiles filled in again. Once that’s done, the import can be made, and the posts can be assigned to the new authors.

  So, just so I can understand the process: the import is not done all at once. I will get the chance to create users first, and then have the older posts imported and assigned to the new (yet original) authors?

  I see, thank you very much, that was very useful.

  I also have a Premium Theme, and I am aware that I cannot maintain it after the guided transfer. Yet, I will purchase a premium theme for wordpress.org. During the guided transfer, is this new theme installed? If not, what will the appearance of my blog be immediately after the transfer? That of a basic theme?

  You’re welcome!

  You will need to purchase the theme directly from the theme vendor. As long as you mention that too, our transfer team will pace it so that you can purchase and install the theme before launching.
