Will Upgrading to Business Plan Cause 404 Error on Previous Posts?

  I have written several posts on the free plan which adds the .wordpress.com extension to the url of my posts. If I upgraded to premium, would links to my previous articles now bring up a 404 error since the new domain woudn’t include the .wordpress.com extension? Thanks for any help.

  Hi there,

  When you add a custom domain to your site, we automatically redirect any links referencing the free example.wordpress.com URL to the new domain, so this won’t cause any 404 errors.

  When you add a domain the free WordPress.com address is not deleted, but it remains active in the background, and all existing links will continue working.
