Will we ever be able to install plug-ins on WP.com?

  I want to use Feedburner and the Hulu embedding plug-ins but do not want to upgrade to WP.org. Are there any features similar to Feedburner that I can use w/ WP.com? Will we ever be able to install plug-ins or is there a technical reason that you can’t offer it with this set up?

  Of course, you can use Feedburner and embed Hulu using the Vodpod button already, but if you want to use the plugins specifically, you’ll have to go to WordPress.org and get your own hosting.

  Yes, there’s a technical reason plugins aren’t allowed: WP.com is set up as a shared blogging platform, meaning you share the ‘guts’ of your blog with everyone else on the same theme. If you had access to add plugins, you’d change all of their blogs too, and they could change yours.
