Will WordPress ads disappear by hosting site off of WordPress?

    If you choose to move your site hosting away from WordPress, do you still need to purchase the “no ads” upgrade or will the ads drop off when the hosting is somewhere else? Our site is a business site and needs to be free of sponsored ads.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Depends on your host. If you go to a “free” host then you might have problem with ads or something.

    But if you are paying for the hosting then there should be no ads unless you put them on yourself. If in doubt ask the host or read the terms of service.

    In my opinion, moving to your own hosting will be far more expensive (both in terms of time and money) than buying the “No-Ads” annual upgrade to remove the ads from your free WordPress.com blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/

    Of course you still won’t be able to run your own ads, which you would be able to do with your own hosting.
