  I used wordpress.com to post our new podcast. I sent the rss url to podcast sites like stitcher and acast. It seems that in order to have an image for the podcast I need to use plugins. I need to move to wordpress.org If I use the redirect, will this also redirect our rss url?

  Hi there. If you move to WordPress.org it means your entire site will be hosted somewhere else, so you’ll need to use the new site’s RSS feed instead. I’m not sure whether WordPress.org sites have an RSS feed out of the box or whether you’ll need to install a plugin for that as well. The WordPress.org forums will be better able to answer that question for you: http://wordpress.org/support/

  What the Site Redirect upgrade does is, when someone clicks on a link to your own site, they are automatically redirected to the new site instead. I don’t think it has anything to do with the RSS feed, except that if someone clicks on a link to an existing post on the old site that still appears in their feed reader, it will redirect them to the new site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
