Will WP please stop closing unresolved topics. Thank You.

    I went to check on one of my questions and wanted to reply to the person who was kind enough to take time to reply to my post, but the topic had been closed. This happens very frequently and it is very very very annoying. How can someone close MY topic when MY question has not yet been resolved?!!!!

    I had put in the “idea” section a few weeks ago that this should NOT be done because it defeats the purpose of sharing the information to help each other out in the first place.

    I supposed I sound like a broken record, but I am sorry – this is very very annoying.
    If I start another thread to ask the unanswered question again — then someone will accuse me of double posting so I just can’t win.

    If you want to say something to staff, posting in the forums is not the most effective way to do it. Just contact staff via email or your Support button; I believe you have the email. People in the forum can do nothing about this; volunteers are not the ones who close threads.

    I apologise for annoying you.

    The main reasons we close topics is that after a certain amount of time they either do not get posted to, or someone else comes along and posts the equivalent of a “Me too” – which tells us precisely nothing. It is better that a new thread is started and hopefully there is more information to go on.

    If a thread is closed and it is one you need to repeat please do so – but if it was unresolved then it will be unresolved now unless more information is posted. You can reference the old topic or just rewrite it with additional information.
