will you accept WAV files for podcast submittals?
-
It looks like you might not accept WAV files for podcast submittals (it’s not in the pull-down list of file formats when I try to upload it on a new post) but I want to make sure before I go to the trouble of converting to MP4, for example, because I think I saw a google reference that said WordPress accepted WAV for podcasts. Please confirm if you accept WAV. Thank you. Doug Peck (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi, @driver1954,
What plan do you have?
Per the Audio Support Doc:
Audio
With the purchase of the WordPress.com Personal, Premium or Business plan, you are also permitted to upload zip files and the following audio file types, in addition to the basic file types listed above:
.mp3
.m4a
.ogg
.wavThere is an embedded audio player built in to WordPress.com that will work with .mp3 files.
Here is additional info on Plans/space: https://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/Let me know if this helps.

Hi there,
You can upload .wav files if you have the Personal plan or higher, but I’d still recommend converting your files to .mp3 instead: .wav files are several times bigger than .mp3 files of the same length, so if you use .wav files not only will you use up your available storage faster, but it will also cost listeners more in bandwidth to stream or download your podcast, not to mention that on slower connections .wav files come with a bigger chance of the file needing to buffer regularly before it can play.
