Will you please help me with the Follow Blog Widget?

    Hi,
    I am subscribed to my own blog using a completely different email address just so I can see how my post looks to my subscribers. My latest post was not emailed to me. It seems as though the “Follow Blog Widget” didn’t send to subscribers. I asked my friend if he got it and he said no.

    I tried reverting my post to draft again and republishing but it still didn’t work.

    I hope I didn’t do something wrong. I hope I didn’t loose all my subscribers.

    Hi there,

    I can assure you that you didn’t lose your subscribers. :) I checked our records for a few of your email subscribers, and they show that we sent them emails after your latest post on September 13.

    Please check to make sure the notification email didn’t end up in your junk/spam folder. Also, if you or your friend use Gmail, please check your Social and Promotions tabs to see if the emails went there:

    If you still don’t see the emails, please let me know the email addresses that didn’t get an email with your latest post. (Our system will redact the email address for your privacy, but staff can still see them.) That way, we can check our records to see what happened on our end!

    Thank you for the speedy reply. We checked spam, promotions, and social tabs as you suggested… still nothing. Maybe Gmail increased their security some more? In any case the two email addresses are (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  • Hi there – for the first email address, that email address is subscribed to a number of individual posts (comment threads) on the blog, but not to the blog itself. For the second, that email address is subscribed to the blog and the last update was mailed on 2013-09-13 00:31:08. Can you please try whitelisting email from *@wordpress.com and *@wp.com?

    So sorry for the late reply. We had a major gig to facilitate. Thank you so much for your help with this. Yes, you are correct that the first email address was not subscribed, that was totally my mistake. I’ll ask G5 to whitelist *@wordpress.com and *@wp.com.
