Wilson Theme: Hide Featured Image

  • Unknown's avatar

I see that the featured image does not show at all individual posts, which is great as I only wanted to use it, to choose the image that is shown when posting links to the page on Facebook and Twitter; however, the featured images appear on the blog page.

Is there any way to switch it off, so that it does not show at all?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

Wilson doesn’t have an option to hide featured images in the blog page, no – featured image support on the blog page is one of the specific features of the theme :)

If you use the images in your post content, Facebook can pick it up from there as well, provided it’s big enough. But I see your featured images are just a still from the video you have in each post, so I guess that’s not an option for you either.

The other option is to use custom CSS code to hide the images from displaying, but that would require you to be on our Premium Plan.

Many thanks for the prompt response; I have taken a look at the price plan page and see no mention of being able to modify the CSS on either the Premium Plan or the Business Plan.

I also have four websites, would I need to pay for four separate plans?

Also, for the website: http://wwd247.wordpress.com, I already have the domain name: wickedwebdesgner.com; would I be able to use this domain by either getting the DNS from your, or being given the relevant IP addresses for the web and mail server?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Darren,

CSS customizations are available on plans Premium and above:

    https://wordpress.com/support/editing-css/,
    https://wordpress.com/support/plan-features/#word-press-com-premium.

I also have four websites; would I need to pay for four separate plans?

Yes, if you’d like to upgrade all of your sites, you’d purchase separate plans for each one.

Also, for the website: http://wwd247.wordpress.com, I already have the domain name: wickedwebdesgner.com; would I be able to use this domain by either getting the DNS from your, or being given the relevant IP addresses for the web and mail server?

After upgrading to any paid plan, you can connect a custom domain as explained here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/.

If you already have a custom email for that domain, you’d be able to connect it. If you don’t, you’ll be able to create it as well. We offer different options for this:
